RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY: Decatur County Community Garden
You're invited to join us as we celebrate the official ribbon cutting for the Decatur County Community Garden on Friday, August 15th, starting at 11:00 AM!
This event honors a collaborative, community-driven space that's rooted in sustainability, education, and access to fresh, nutritious food. Located at 315 S. Ireland Street in Greensburg, the Decatur County Community Garden is a true labor of love, brought to life through the combined efforts of local partners and passionate volunteers.
The garden serves as more than just a place to grow vegetables - it's a hub for environmental learning, wellness, and connection. From composting and soil conservation to youth programs and public workshops, the space provides hands-on opportunities for residents of all ages to engage with nature and gain valuable life skills.
We'll be joined in celebration by the garden's key community partners, including: Decatur County Health Department, Decatur County Soil & Water, Decatur County Recycling, Greensburg Decatur County Public Library, and Purdue Extension Decatur County. Together, these organizations have worked to turn a once-empty lot into a vibrant green space that feeds the body, mind, and soul of the community.
We hope to see you there!
